Signing in
Bolbase doesn't use passwords. Sign in with your Google or Microsoft account, or with a passkey.
The first time you continue with Google or Microsoft, we create your Bolbase account automatically.
If you sign in with a different Google or Microsoft account than last time, you'll get a separate Bolbase account. To use both, sign in with the first one and connect the second from your account page.
Sign-in didn't finish? Try again, and make sure your browser allows cookies for bolbase.com.
Passkeys
A passkey lets you sign in with your fingerprint, face or device PIN. Your biometrics never leave your device.
To add one, sign in with Google or Microsoft, open your account page and choose Add a passkey.
"This passkey isn't registered": the passkey was never added to Bolbase, or it was removed. Sign in with Google or Microsoft and add it again.
Lost or replaced your device? Sign in with Google or Microsoft, then remove the old passkey from your account page.
Your account
Add or remove sign-in methods from your account page. You always keep at least one, so you can't lock yourself out.
Search engines: new sitemap.xml and robots.txt; each public page has its own description and a canonical www.bolbase.com address; sign-in, account and workspace pages are kept out of search results.
Links to bolbase.com shared in messages and on LinkedIn now show a preview card.

Track & trace: type a B/L or container number and press Track to go straight to the carrier's tracking page in a new tab. The number is copied on the way for sites that need it typed in.
Removed the "live status isn't switched on" note; tracking uses the carriers' own sites.

Live tracking also works for master B/Ls printed without a carrier code: the carrier is taken from the containers.

Live track & trace: when a shipment is saved with a master B/L (or a container number), Bolbase starts tracking it with the carrier and shows the status, vessel and voyage, departure and arrival dates, and every container event on the shipment page. Updates are fetched every 4 hours. An empty ETA is filled in from the carrier; an ETA you've entered is never overwritten.
The Track & trace page shows live status for any number you enter.
Live tracking uses the ShipsGo tracking service and stays off until its API token is added.

Track & trace: a new workspace page links to 14 ocean carriers' tracking sites, including Maersk, MSC, CMA CGM, COSCO, Hapag-Lloyd, ONE and Evergreen. Enter a master B/L or container number and Bolbase recognises the carrier from its prefix.
Each shipment has a Track & trace box with a button for the master B/L and for every container. Maersk and CMA CGM open the result directly; for the other carriers the number is copied so you can paste it on their page.
Admin > Carriers: add carriers, edit their prefixes and links, or hide them.

New Admin area for admins, with Overview, Users, AI training, Brainstorm and Messages.
New accounts now need an admin's approval before they can be used. Admins get an email for each sign-up, and the person is emailed once approved. Existing accounts are unaffected.
Users: approve as member, staff or admin; decline; change roles; suspend (signs them out at once) or reactivate; rename; remove sign-in methods; delete accounts (their shipments are kept).
AI training: upload sample PDFs (several at once), check and correct what the reader found, and save them as verified examples. New uploads that look like a verified sample are read with that sample as a worked example. House rules apply to every document, and a test button scores the reader against the verified answers.
Brainstorm: admins post ideas and suggestions, vote, comment and track status.

Consistent widths across the workspace: "Add from PDF" now uses the same page width as every other page, and editable tables (containers, charges) fill the full width like the others.

Drag and drop PDFs: drop a document onto the upload area (or anywhere on the page) instead of browsing for it. Non-PDFs and files over 15 MB are caught before uploading.
Each customer's page has its own drop area: a PDF dropped there updates that customer, even if the document spells the company name differently.

Add from PDF: upload any freight or customer document and choose what it becomes: a new shipment and customer, a customer only, or let the reader decide. Company profiles and credit applications become customer records, with the PDF kept on file.
The reader now goes through up to four pages and picks up every other detail it finds (references, codes, terms, contacts, charges, remarks). They're listed under "Other details found" for you to check and edit.
Customer records gain a contact person, website, other details and a documents list. Matching customers are updated without overwriting what's already there, unless you choose to replace it.
An upload read the wrong way can be switched between shipment and customer review.
